Bio Imaging Core | The Bio Imaging Core, a VIB Facility, is a dual platform (KU Leuven and Ghent) dedicated to offer the state of the art imaging platform, from Electronic microscopy (Transmission electron microscope and Scanning electron microscope) to superresolution microscopy like Stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM), photo activated localization microscopy (PALM), Total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) and Structured illumination microscopy (SIM), confocale microscopy, screening devices for High-content screening (HCS) and widefield microscopes.

Ghent Platform

At the VIB Ghent unit, we will elaborate on the technological advancements to develop 3D Correlative Light Electron Microscopy (CLEM). This unique technology that bridges the gap between EM and Light Microscopy (LM) will be a real game changer for cell biology research.

The VIB Bio Imaging Core and the departmental core of the Center for the Biology of Disease, LiMoNe, are aiming to foster collaborations and connect people to concatenate their expertise, to provide cutting edge microscopy services and develop novel schemes for analyzing and interpreting the obtained images.
