Imaging@VIB is a networking event of the VIB Bio Imaging Core facility for the users of both platforms, future users and everyone interested in imaging technology. The symposium is addressing researchers interested in imaging from all backgrounds ranging from Ph.D. students to Group leaders. This annual event is meant as an expanded user/internal outreach meeting covering all topics of microscopy from acquisition to analysis. 2016 marks the 7th edition of this symposium.
We have the goal of a 50/50 ratio of internal to invited speakers. We are showcasing our use cases to connect them to the broader imaging community. Guest speakers are leaders in the field who highlight new findings, new methods enabling new research lines for the imaging facilities and their users. We want to stimulate interactions, inspire and create feedback from the local community. The idea is to connect and concatenate knowledge, to inform users, and start and foster collaborations. The location of the event is alternating between Ghent and Leuven and will be organized on the 9th of June 2016 in the Provinciehuis in Leuven. The 2016 edition will focus on EM technologies ranging from Cryo-tomography to strategies for analyzing anisotropic 3D-SEM images.
